When Tunde Adeshina picked up his first clipper, he never imagined it would become the beginning of a thriving business.
At 19, he started cutting hair under a tree in Ibadan with nothing but a second-hand clipper and two plastic chairs.
Today, Tunde is the founder of BladeMasters Grooming Studio, a fast-rising barbershop brand known for its clean fades, customer service and apprenticeship structure.
His breakthrough came when he joined a local apprenticeship program where he learned financial planning, customer relations and branding. With the training, he redesigned his small barbing setup, created a simple price list and introduced appointment scheduling, something unheard of in his area at the time.
Within 18 months, his daily earnings grew from ₦1,200 to ₦15,000.
Now he trains younger apprentices, proving that small beginnings can grow into reputable brands when backed by discipline and skill.
